When the Smurfs are chased out of their village by an evil wizard named Gargamel they find themselves in a different place, outside of their magical village. Landing in the middle of Central Park, the Smurfs must find a way to get back home before the evil wizard finds them.
The Smurfs was a TV series targeted at children. The premise of this movie clearly reveals that the target audience is likely still children/tweens. However, throw in a little Neil Patrick Harris and me and every mother/father/or babysitter are a little more inclined to tag along.
The world premiere of The Smurfs was held Monday night at the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York. Katy Perry stole the show in a custom made The Blonds smurfette mini dress and smurf blue Louboutin pumps. The sparkler was a tribute to her voice character, the adorable smurfette, who wears a similiar white dress in the film.

Best dressed of the night goes to Olivia Palermo who seems to be at every New York premiere! She looks effortlessly summery chic in this off the shoulder blush coloured top that has bow detaling at the sleeves. She paired the ultra feminine shirt with an equally romantic off white maxi skirt. She decided to accessorize with a white belt and nude clutch.
Sofia Vergara who stars as Odile decided to go glitz for the world premiere, opting for a longer Missoni Resort 2012 gown that showcases tons of embroidery. The actress went heavy on the accessories as well, opting for an arm full of bangles and turquoise earrings.
Jayma Mays plays one of the non-animated characters in the film, starring as actor Neil Patrick Harris' wife,Garce Winslow. She decided to walk the blue carpet in a green Reem Acra mini dress. Showcased on the dress are purple flowers at the waist which she matched with purple Ferragamo pumps. She completed her look with a Judith Leiber clutch, hoop earrings, and coral lips.
