I started this post with the usual header, Great Looks From this Week, and quickly realized the bulk of my picks were from Comic-Con events! Who knew that what once was a gathering solely for comic lovers would eventually be transformed into a forum for showcasing amazing fashion.
Here are this weeks best dressed:
Katharine McPhee in Alice + Olivia:
The singer attended Comic-Con to promote the upcoming movie,Shark Night 3D. She decided to go casual-chic in a black lace skirt and nude blouse from the Alice + Olivia Pre-Fall 2011line. She opted for a pair of nude Louboutin’s to polish off her look.
Jessica Biel in Christian Cota:
Jessica Biel was at Comi-Con on Friday to attended a panel for Total Recall. I feel this look is what the ideal Comic-Con outfit should consist of -- effortless beauty. The pink silk cropped top and shorts are from the Christian Cota Spring 2011 line.
I think this is the first time Jessica Biel has made my best dressed list!
Minka Kelly in Etro:
Minka Kelly attended a Charlie's Angels' panel on Saturday wearing a ethnic print silk dress by Etro. I love how flowy the dress is, yet because of the brown belt cinching her waist, it's also very figure flattering. The different prints are very exotic but the colours are neurtal, making this dress ideal for transitioning from a summer to fall wardrobe. She chose a pair of caramel coloured Brian Atwood Maniac pumps to complete her look.
Ginnifer Goodwin in Roksanda Ilincic:
Ginnifer Goodwin was definitely the most fashion forward star to attend Comic-Con over the weekend. She chose a very risque Roksanda Ilincic Resort 2011 dress to meet fans in who were reportedly gushing over her outift (wouldn't you?) The neon yellow is so vibrant and screams summer! If you look closely, you'll notice the dress features an asymmetrical hemline and the belt is actually composed of black feathers that form an ‘H.’ She wisely chose to let the dress stand out, opting for no accessories and simple black ballet flats.
This dress might seem overdone for the event but it's just too beautiful to not be acknowledged.
Freida Pinto in Michael Kors:
Is this the start of a neon yellow trend? Actress Freida Pinto also wore a neon yellow mini to a panel for The Immortals. The mini dress is from the Michael Kors Resort 2012 collection. It featues black detailing at the seams.
Although Freida's dress might be more appropriate for Comic-Con, I think I prefer Ginnifer's high fashion look.
Kate Beckinsale in Tibi:
This looks like a dress but it isn't! Look closer. It's actually a cute black knit skirt paired with a black top, both from the Tibi Spring 2011 collection. She decided to keep it simple and accessorize with a black Isharya cuff and Brian Atwood Marcella black pumps.
A simple look but again, this is perfect for Comic-Con. Doesn't this picture make you think of cat woman?
Abigail Spencer in Oscar de la Renta:
The actress attended the premiere of Cowboys & Aliens in a ultra- feminine strapless dress. The summery Oscar de la Renta pattern was refreshing next to Olivia Wilde's darker Dolce & Gabbana look. Spencer's choice is definitely appropriate for a summer red carpet event.
