Makeup Mistakes Women Often Make

Looking fabulous has always been a target for women but without the proper steps using makeup can actually come in your disadvantage. To make sure
you're looking fabulous check out the most common makeup mistakes so you can avoid them from the get-go!

The fact that makeup any girl's best friend is old news but unless you apply the makeup properly you're not going to get the result you're looking for, so basically if you're making mistakes makeup can actually turn on you and become your worst enemy.

There are a myriad of brands out there which create high quality makeup products at a reasonable price so before you start doing your own makeup, make sure you purchase the right products for your skin type and needs. A sultry makeup look is always a look that suits the wearer perfectly so use the hues which do your skin tone justice as well as adapt the makeup to the event attended.

One mistake most women make when applying makeup is going too bold. Makeup is supposed to hide imperfections and underline the facial features not make you look like you're wearing a mask. You don't have to put on “tons” of makeup to look fabulous, you just have to put on just enough to make your look natural.

Using the wrong foundation hue is one of the most common makeup mistakes women make. Foundation isn't supposed to give your skin a bit of a tan, it's supposed to create a perfect, smooth complexion and cover-up any imperfections. This is why you should always use a foundation which blend-in with your skin. Test the hue on your jawline before you purchase a foundation or ask for a sample which you can give a try at home. If you are used to tanning you can purchase one darker hue as well and mix it with your regular hue to create your own blend that will suit the hue of your complexion at that moment.

Applying foundation on chapped, flaky skin is by far the worst thing you can do as the result will be horrific. The foundation will blend-in with the skin and will help emphasize the flakes, not conceal them, meaning you'll look better off not wearing any makeup. To prevent this from happening make sure you exfoliate your skin every week and moisturize on a daily basis. Exfoliating facial scrubs will get rid of the dead skin cells covering your complexion, leaving your skin feeling smooth.

Making the lips super plump with the help of your lipliner can turn disastrous if you step further than the natural line of your lip. To get plump lisps experts say to line subtly, using a lip colored or the same lip liner hue of your lipstick, the outer line of your lips but without passing over it. Going over is like going overboard and the effect obtained will be very unnatural, unflattering and obvious.

Another unappealing result caused by improper makeup application is related to the eyebrows. Enhancing and even changing the shape of the eyebrows with the help of makeup is a common practice nowadays and a super helpful beauty trick as the eyebrows can absolutely transform your look, this is why it's essential to have them shaped by a professional. Because most women end-up with thin and “chipped” eyebrows, makeup has become a perfect solution, however applying it correctly is essential. The mistakes women usually make when it comes to reshaping or emphasizing their eyebrows are going for a hue which looks unnatural or extending the eyebrows more than necessary, creating a droopy-eye, sad look.

Make sure to learn the proper steps of makeup application and you'll definitely look breathtaking every single time!

The solution will melt a bit and it will also ease the application.

Eye Shadow

Often the weather conditions and other factors can ruin your makeup. Those who prepare for a special event can guarantee the spotless condition of their eye makeup with this trick.

Apply a creamy eye shadow formula on your lids and cover it with a super-thin layer of powder to top the effect. Make sure you handle the different products with care and you avoid the impression of an overdone makeup.

Nail Varnish

Marian Newman is one of the most popular nail gurus of all times. She advised us to prepare our own nail polish shade if we just can't find out signature shade. The brands doesn't count, concentrate only on the shade and keep in mind the color palette that suits your skin tone and personality. Mix two or more shades to experiment with the different impact of vibrant or neutral hues.

Eye Pencil

Brighten your eyes with an extremely simple trick. Use a black or navy eye pencil and apply a super-narrow line just below the eyelashes on the inner corner of the upper lids. The profound shade will attract immediate attention highlighting the beauty of your feline glimpse. The dark tone and the white area will be in a fab contrast. Finally you can use a white eye shadow to brush the lower rim of the lids just above the eye shadow you selected.

Eyebrows

Karen Miller as one of the most popular makeup artists of our times offers the definition of the ideal eyebrows that suit all face shapes. She claims that the perfect eyebrows should begin right above the corner of the eye socket and end just above the inner corner of the eye. Moreover we also find out that the arch should be right above the iris.

It is highly recommended to learn the fact that the eyebrows should not be the darkest section of our face. Instead these should be lightened if we were blessed with dark colored tresses. Using a face powder is the best remedy to spare us from this beauty dilemma. Furthermore those who have hyper-thin eyebrows can use an ash tone eye shadow to create the illusion of full and perfectly defined brows.

How to Conceal Dark Under-Eye Circles

Dark circles under the eyes are sometimes considered as real torture. Unfortunately, one cannot get rid completely of this unaesthetic issue. Still,
keep in mind that with the appropriate products and following just a few simple steps you can conceal dark under-eye circles, remove that tired, dull look and brighten up your face in an instant.

No one loves dark circles under the eyes. They are unaesthetic and can make you look tired and ill. There are many the reasons that cause the appearance of under-eye circles. Heredity, fatigue, lack of sleep, allergies, physical or emotional stress, age, sun exposure, and an unbalanced diet are some of the main factors that lead to dark circles. Besides the well-known natural remedies used to diminish dark under-eye circles, makeup is a great tool that can help you hide this unattractive issue. With the right tricks, tools and products, you can obtain a bright-eyed look in an instant.

First of all, is important to moisturize the eye area and look for eye creams that contain vitamin K. As it is mostly thought that dark circles are the result of veins and capillaries shown through the thin skin, vitamin K helps constricting capillaries. Then, you need to know what concealer to choose since this is the magic wand that can make the difference. It camouflages and corrects, it is practically an irreplaceable tool when it comes to hiding raccoon eyes.

For some of us, foundation is all we need for covering dark circles. When this is not enough, concealer is the saving solution. How to find the best concealer in order to get brighter eyes in no time? Pick one that has a slightly dry yet creamy texture as it adheres better to the skin. For the ultimate chameleonic effect make sure you go for the perfect color, which should be one shade lighter than the foundation. Also, a concealer should match the skin itself. Next, follow a few basic makeup steps for a flawless result.

When choosing the right color, keep in mind that golden-toned concealers work amazing as they counteract the purplish shade of the circles. Stay away from concealers that have a pink base as they would only emphasize your dark circles and turn them gray. Even though it is sometimes considered as being a mistake choosing a concealer that is too light, there are situations that require a slightly lighter color such as dark circles that have a too deep shade than your skin complexion.

Using your fingers or a small brush, dab or lightly draw concealer on the area you want to correct. You can also apply small dots. Start at the inner corner of the eye continuing along and close under the eyes. If you have wrinkle and fine lines, don't use foundation on this area as it only emphasizes them. Next, with a latex sponge or your fingertip, blend well into the skin. For an easier application you can leave the concealer on the skin for a few minutes before blending as this will allow you to work better with it. Don't stretch, don't rub and don't wipe it off! Just pat! Try to avoid concealers that contain oil as they tend to settle into the fine lines.

One single coat of concealer is enough as too much can ruin your appearance. As a final step, apply some translucent powder that will remove all the moisture, prevent the shiny aspect and provide a long-lasting effect. For special occasions you can also brighten up your look applying a highlighter on the browbone and the center of the eyelid.

This is one of the secrets to highlight the lashline and ease the application of the liquid or creamy liner formula. Build up the perfect eye makeup by sticking to a few well-defined beauty principles.

Mascara

The same beautician also offers us the chance to polish our skills of applying mascara. In order to create a va-va-voom effect with this must have makeup formula it is essential to use a skinny brush.

This apparently tiny detail can guarantee the dazzling outcome of our beauty session. Use a similar brush in order to define lashes individually. Moreover you'll be able to apply the same amount of mascara to each section.

Blush

In order to pull off the dewy makeup look for the warm season it is highly recommended to use a creamy blush rather than a powder formula. Our skin is more receptive to creamy compositions, that's a fact. In order to create a funky fresh effect consider this helpful advice and make sure you opt for the most flattering shade that complements your skin tone.

Eyeshadow as Lip Color

Multi-tasker cosmetic formulas can be used for numerous purposes. Use your fabulous eye shadow palette to emphasize your glimpse, however you can also use it to inject some glamor into your lips. Use either a peach, pink or darker eye shadow to apply it over your perfectly moisturized lips. The lips will look simply stunning especially if you use either a pro applicator or your fingers for the application.

Foundation

Choose the most suitable foundation shade to create the perfect makeup base. However besides the textbook style application of this beauty formula you can also experiment with an additional makeup trick. In order to create a radiant and natural-looking effect start rubbing your palms and place your hand on your cheeks, forehead and chins to soften the foundation banish the artificial look.

How to Apply Makeup Well

A delicate layer of foundation and a soft, silky powder application, one single sculpting line on the lid and a delicious treat for your lips. When it comes to
makeup, from diaphanous to the boldest approach, it's important to know ourselves and find the perfect flattering palette able to express our personality and emotions. Learning how to apply makeup well might be a challenging task, yet if properly used, it has the power to hide, enhance and transform.

Makeup is an art. And not just any kind of art, but one that uses mascara, eyeliner and lipstick in order to define and enhance the beauty of your face. It has the amazing power of destroying insecurities and boost self-confidence. For the ultimate result one should first know her own face and skin type and then learn some basic makeup tips and tricks regarding its application. Still, always remember to stay true to yourself and your personal taste.

Foundation. The base is an essential step in the entire makeup process. For a flawless overall appearance foundation should have a natural purity and a glowing aspect. In this sense, finding the right texture for your skin type and the suitable color for your complexion are two crucial things. Applying it using your fingers gives the advantage of an even coverage and the foundation enters better into the texture of the skin. Still, you can use a sponge, which works for blending larger areas, but it becomes rather problematic around the eye area. When using a brush, apply foundation with downward strokes. Make sure you blend it into the jawline and a little onto the neck so you avoid the unwanted distinct line between the two.

Concealer. Everybody loves concealers. And what is not to love? A concealer has all the qualities of the perfect and most at hand makeup product. It corrects, camouflages imperfections such as spider veins or those annoying under the eye circles, illuminates and refreshes the face, among others. Well, it can do about everything and anything. However, following the rule 'less is more', concealer shouldn't be applied on the entire face. Choose a color that matches the one of our skin and an opaque, slightly dry texture. Apply it using a brush with thin, vertical lines onto the area you want to conceal. Next, blend into the skin.

Powder

Powder is the makeup product that adds a matte finish to your look. Applied directly to the skin, powder evens out and tones down the shiny aspect specific to oily skin. Translucent powder is a must-have due to its light texture. Use a powder brush or puff in order to apply loose or pressed powder evenly over your face using downward strokes. Don't forget about the neck and ears, paying attention and blending well. Always make sure you dab the powder brush into the powder and remove the excess powder. Use a puff for pressed powder. Always follow the direction your facial hair grows.

Blush. A blush should be that final, perfect touch of the makeup process. If properly chosen and applied, it gives a healthy, fresh aspect to your skin. Using a brush, apply a small amount of blush across your cheekbones, going from the temples in. The creamy textures should be applied over foundation with your fingers. For contour, use a deeper shade of powdered blush in the hollow of the cheeks. Pay attention so that you apply the same amount on each side.

Eyeshadow. Eyeshadows represent the playful, colorful part of the makeup process that allows you to have fun using different shades for sweet or dramatic effects. Apply the eyeshadow base in a lighter color on the entire lid, close to the lash base, using a shadow brush. Next, take a larger brush and blend the eyeshadow going up towards the brows. For a more natural look, use a sponge-tip applicator or an shadow brush in order to blend the edges of the eyeshadow.

Eyeliner and mascara. For the ultimate drama queen look, the eyeliner is absolutely mandatory. Whether you choose a pencil or a liquid eyeliner, for a flawless application, pull the eye taunt with your free hand and draw a continuous line on the upper lid. On the lower lid, use an eye pencil and apply a line from corner to corner. For the mysterious smoky eye effect smudge using a small, shadow brush.
Enhance the beauty of your eyes with mascara. Apply it starting at the inner corner of the eye and at the base of the lashes working outward and upward.

Lipstick. When it comes to lipstick, it's important the way you apply it. You can use a lip brush for a more harmonious coverage starting from the inner towards the outer corner of the lips. For a 3D effect, apply some lip gloss on the center of your lips

Trendy School Makeup Ideas 2011

Give your school look a boost of style by playing around with some of the trendiest makeup looks this season. Check out the following makeup ideas that
suit the new trends as well as school policy so you can look radiant every single time!

Adapting your makeup to the occasion as well as your age is a must if you wish to look absolutely fabulous, as these criteria can have a significant impact over your look. School makeup needs to be appropriate and radiate naturalness, but natural makeup doesn't mean boring. Check out the following trendy school makeup ideas and inspire yourself for your next fab school look.

Daytime makeup differs from evening makeup mostly through the intensity of the colors used, so if you want to look fabulous during the day, you should opt for neutral, soft hues that complement your skin tone, enhancing it subtly.
Since naturalness is a highly popular makeup trend, you can inspire yourself and adapt it to your style and create a trendy school makeup look that makes you radiate beauty:

Before applying a tinted moisturizer, it's best to neutralize any blemishes using a concealer. This will ensure your skin looks perfect, as the beauty of flawless looking skin cannot be topped. Use a sheer gold glitter eye makeup to add a glow to your eyes, but apply it softly so the eyelid doesn't look “heavy” in gold. The effects should be subtle, just enough to make the eyes stand out as light hits the eyelid. You can use glittery pink or pearl as well if you desire, as the effect will be equally fabulous. Finish the look by curling the eyelashes and apply a coat of brown/black mascara to make your eyelashes stand out more.
Apply a touch of blush to your cheeks preferably in peach or pink so they'll receive a natural definition.

An almost bare makeup look can be a perfect choice especially if your school is very restricted as far as makeup is concerned. Bare or minimal makeup is highly popular this year, so you'll not only look great, but you'll also sport one of the hottest trends in makeup. Conceal any blemishes and apply a tinted moisturizer to create the appearance of flawless skin. Add a touch of pink blush to the cheeks, curl the eyelashes and coat them with one coat of mascara and apply a sheer lip gloss or lip balm to your lips to make them look and feel soft.

Pink is definitely one hot color this season, so don't be afraid to use it whether it's fashion or makeup you're talking about. There are a variety of pink hues available to choose from, but if you want to look fabulous and not tacky (as this is a school makeup), you need to opt for a soft, pale pink shimmery eye makeup palette. Apply a tinted moisturizer to get a uniform skin tone, contour (softly) the lash line using a black eyeliner pencil and apply the pink eye shadow on your eyelid, making sure that you're not going too high. Coat your eyelashes with mascara, apply a touch of blush to your cheeks and apply a nude lipgloss to complete your stylish makeup.
