It's Friday and I...

... really enjoyed the bloggers get-together on Wednesday evening. The feedback everyone has given, was very positive, so let's do it again. Next time we make sure every Capetonian blogger is there.
... am probably the ONLY blogger, who also attended that event, not actually doing a special blog post about it. But I'll say this, I won a wonderful book that evening called, A Million Miles from Normal.
... have three working days left, then I'm off on a month long holiday.
... love NoMU's December pin-up, Beatnik Bazaar. If you haven't entered yet, you're losing out on the chance to win fat prizes! Go to Engen on Orange and get your pose on. I did.
... have two social events lined up this weekend. Can't believe I'm actually getting paid to party.
... learned that Facebook and Twitter are my friends. Oh, and Google Analytics. Thank you for that Vicky!
... am so hungry. Luckily my sister is on her way to me with McDonalds. Yummy!
... have the most fucked-up love life you can ever imagine! Just had to put it out there in case it wasn't already pretty obvious.
... need to get back into an exercise routine, but how is that possible with the holidays literally around the corner?
... find this rather strange: I update the details on my car insurance and notify them of my new address, thinking that my premiums would go down seeing that I live in an up market area with security. Turns out, according to their claims history, that area is 'high risk', so now I pay a shit load on car insurance. So much for honesty!
... by accidentally ordered a lamb! I asked for 'one', but with that I meant 'one kilo'. We'll be having a braai every night for the next month.
... don't even know how to prepare leg-of-lamb. Time to find out.
... am going to eat now. My sister's here with the foooood.

Happy Friday! I am in holiday mode and haven't been productive in days!

Calling all Capetonian Bloggers: Lets put faces to blog posts!

Ah finally! I've been begging anyone to host a party or get-together where bloggers can meet and I'm so pleased that it's finally gonna happen! Fellow bloggers, please do me the honour and attend this event. Let's all get to know the people behind the blogs. I'm definitely going to be there and I'm bringing booze. Samantha Laura Kaye wil be the MC for the evening and Vicky Sleet will be the keynote speaker. There will also be giveaways which include Vamp furniture, NoMU products and much more. More than enough reason for you to go!

Hell no am I missing out on this. I've got a black number that's begging to be worn.
Click the above image for more information and remember to RSVP. Go on, spread the word.

Thank you Fable Fairy Blog for putting this together. I can't wait.

It's Friday and I...

... went lingerie shopping last night. Corsets from Wonderbra.
... am attending a Moulin Rouge party tonight, hence the corset shopping. Ooh, can't wait!
... had a look at models/ finalists from the Wonderbra Model Search and saw a few girls with potential, but also saw loads of fake tits.
... did a lot of house hunting this week. Fun and depressing at the same time!
... fell in love with a house in Loevenstein, but the ridiculous deposit kinda screw me over.
... can't follow any more people on Twitter, because I've reached my limit. I will follow every follower of mine as soon as I can. Just had to put this out there.
... am featuring on YDE's Facebook Fanpage, modelling their new range, Siren Design.
... laugh every time I visit the Woelag website, but you have to be Afrikaans to appreciate this. Damn funny!
... had an interview with iDale yesterday about 'Where Bloggers Break Bread'. Keep an eye on his website to read about where cool bloggers love to wine and dine. The post should be up soooon!
... might be in a movie next year if everything works out. Hold thumbs for me.
... am also starting a new blog, but it will be a joint venture with my sister. Trust me, it's gonna rock!
... am keeping this list short as I am not feeling creative today.

Happy Friday everyone! Let's get this weekend started.

Why I should write for Bronx Ladies!

Y'all know my obsession with blogging and my obsession (which is an understatement) with shoes! So when I saw that Bronx Ladies SA is doing a bloggers search where you can win a whole year's supply of shoes, I nearly fainted! I mean, how can I just let that opportunity pass me by? Hell no!
Earlier this month Cape Town Girl announced on her blog that Bronx is searching for a "gorgeous, sexy girl-about-town who leads a fun, fashion-and-party-filled lifestyle, who would write about everything from what’s hot on the catwalks to what’s hot in their wardrobes right now".

And, if you think you're a cool chick-blogger who can totally pull this off, then go ahead and enter here. You can write about any topic of up to 300 words! Just think of that prize - shoes for a whole effing year! So darlings, allow me to attempt an entry and tell convince Bronx Ladies SA that I should write for them...

I love blogging, because it's an escape. Here I can tell you what's on my mind, I can express, I can be silly, I can be funny, I can be random and I can just let it all out. Here I get to be myself. I love writing, especially blogging, because there are no rules. Not in my blog, anyway.

I show girls that I'm just like them. I am hooked on competitions and freebies. I share the things I can’t say no to, that most people won’t even admit to! I come across fabulous finds, be it expensive Jimmy Choos or self-help books. I even introduce my readers to new things, like NoMU Foods or great photographers. I hate going to gym and while others blog about fitness advice, I tell you the unwritten rules of a gym. I blog about my personal life, my animals and my great friends. I'm not afraid to speak my mind and tell people to boycott L'Oreal because of their animal testing. I embrace my inner-prophet and make up quotes or inspirational lists. I show my motherly side and tell girls about the stages of a break-up or things that every girl should invest in. I have a glamorous side too and go for photo shoots and attend great events where I rub shoulders with celebs. Or I would just make up an excuse to party and have loads of champagne!

I think I should write for Bronx because I'm a normal girl and I talk like a normal, straight-forward, shoe-addict, fashion-loving, fun City girl. I don't use big words that would require my readers to first use Thesaurus. Because seriously, who talks like that? But when I do talk, people listen. I grab attention because I talk sense and people can relate. That's why I should write for YOU Bronx.

My Juicy World – another sneak-peak of what’s in store!

Last week I dropped a few hints of what I’m planning and all my tweets were about this unknown, yet super exciting, news! Today I thought I’d give you some more clues, because, as my followers, you deserve to know first! You, and only you, will basically be with me on my journey and get to see and hear everything first!

So the big ‘campaign’ (that’s a clue too) is taking place in the next week or two. It involves Robert Miller (and you all know how I love to brag about his work), Vanessa Haywood (SA model and actress from District 9), Samantha Laura Kaye (the great make-up artist who has worked on this type of project before) and the NoMU Brand (yes, the NoMU that is taking over my spices cupboard). Another hint: Seth from 2Oceans Vibe Radio, Alex van Tonder (Cape Town Girl) and Vicky Sleet (from I Want That) have all done this before.

Needless to say, I’m super excited to work with all these amazingly talented people! This will be my first PROPER (meaning, professional) photo shoot (hey, another hint!) and, who knows, this might be the start of big things for me. I will definitely share the behind-the-scenes and pretty stuff with you.

Ok, I'm off to plan my outfit for the 2OceansVibe Radio launch! I will definitely post pictures about this for you too.
