I've always prefered shimmery makeup than matte for the sheer reason that it's a lot more forgiving than matte, which usually requires precision.  However, heavy metals are sometimes too strong for my delicate asian features (the small eyes and lack of dimension are not easy to work with).

Chanel's Illusions D’Ombre collection gives me the subtlety I so need.  Just look at how pretty Ginta and Sigrid look backstage?  Just a touch of glamour but not overdone.  I'm really interested in the long-wear eyeshadow, more specifically the EPATANT and the ILLUSOIRE shades.  The nailpolish, as always, are most likely already sold out...if not, I would like to try QUARTZ, the champagne colour with silver shimmer.
