Miranda Kerr Opens Up!

Miranda Kerr has decided to share some personal details surrounding the birth of her son Flynn Christopher Blanchard Copeland Bloom. In an interview with InStyle Australia she talked about the immense pain she felt having a natural childbirth.

"I actually thought I was going to die at one point and left my body," Kerr said. I was looking down on myself, the pain was so intense.

The model made no attempt to sugarcoat the process, reliving the pain and anxiety she felt.

"I kept thinking, How do women do this? But if other women have don't this, I can do it too. I was
determined."

I love the honesty. Too often, women are made to feel as though they have to embellish childbirth as painless and magical when in reality, the natural process is quite opposite. Nobody is saying it isn't beautiful, its just also equally messy and painful and there should be no shame in admitting that.

From what I hear, of course...

In a separate interview with The Telegraph, Miranda shared the meaning behind part of her sons name. Before marrying her famous husband, Orlando Bloom, Kerr had been dating Christopher Middlebrook for two years. In the interview, she reveals how he passed away unexpectedly at a young age.

“After he died, I wrote him a letter that said I hoped to name my first child after him in some way. I told Orlando and he was the one who said he’d be happy to do that. Orlando’s a good guy.”

About two years ago, one of my closest friends was killed in a car accident. Since then, I have always wanted to do something in memorial of her and the impact she had on my life. I think Miranda`s name is a beautiful tribute and Orlando’s understanding is kind, a true testament to his character
