The Emmy's are like the Oscar's of television, awarding the best of the best in TV while creating a venue for TV's finest to mingle on a red carpet and showcase some great (and likely, not so great) fashion.
Last year, I was thrilled to see Friday Night Lights receive some nods even though they did not take home a win. This year I want a win! Missing from the list of nominees Parenthood, How I Met Your Mother (specifically Neil Patrick Harris), Desperate Housewives, Lea Michele from Glee, and most surprising, last years winner Kyra Sedgwick from The Closer.
Leading the way with nominees, AMC's Mad Men scored 19, HBO's Boardwalk Empire has 18, and ABC's Modern Family picks up 17. HBO new comer, Game of Thrones did impressively well with 13 nominees, NBC's 30 Rock also received 13, and Fox's Glee picked up 12.
The Emmy's will take place on Sunday September 18th, on FOX.
