2011 MUCH MUSIC VIDEO AWARDS

Image taken from propgaga.com

The 2011 Much Music Video Awards were held last Sunday in Toronto, Ontario. The event always draws a lot of Canadian celebrities and a decent amount of International ones but this year was by far one of the biggest in terms of celebrity appearances. Selena Gomez was the host which meant that Justin Beiber was in attendance. Lady Gaga also performed twice! The fact that Gaga and Beiber were both in attendance should be enough star power to have the streets of Toronto rioting with little monsters and beliebers -- but there is more!

Drake stopped by to collect an award, City and Color performed, while Avril Lavigne, Snoop Dogg, Bruno Mars, Fefe Dobson, The Black Keys, Down With Webster, and Far East Movement were just a few more celebs to walk the red carpet in Canada. Not bad Much Music, not bad at all.

Now on to the fashion -- it was all Selena Gomez. She nailed every single wardobe change, at times I found her selections so fashion forward, so spot on, I forgot she was only 18. Good for her and her stylist.

Selena Gomez in Dolce & Gabbana:
The white dress is from the Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2011 collection. The minidress featured embellishment detailing and a short flirty hemline.Gomez wore her hair pulled back to show off her diamond drop earrings.

Selena Gomez in Burberry Prorsum:
By far, the best look of the night. I want it, all of it! The beige minidress is composed of silk and chiffon and features uneven frayed edges. You can`t see the back in this shot but it shows off a lot of skin, courtesy of a leather harness. The shoes make this outfit all the better. The purple Giuseppe Zanotti peep toe pumps are the perfect choice, adding the right pop of color to the beige number.

Selena Gomez in Dsquared:
The Dsquared Monsieur Romper alludes that the star is in fact wearing black shorts and a white halter vest with subtle lace detailing. The rompeur is what makes it fun and age appropriate. For this look, she wore her hair down, which in my opinion is a shame because she is hiding gorgeous Melinda Maria gold hoops behind her hair!

Nikki Reed in Ronald Abdala:
The Twilight actress brought sophisticated charm to the red carpet on Sunday and though her dress is in no means comparable to the Burberry seen on Selena, I still like this look. I just wish she had done more with it. The black and white strapless Ronald Abdala dress featured sequin detailing and  layering towards the skirt of the dress. She completed her look with a black Judith Leiber clutch and black Cassadei pumps. Classic but predictible.

Shay Mitchell in Asos:
The black Asos corsett dress is ideal for the MMVA red carpet -- it is fun and super trendy. The black minidress features feather and stud detailing and a sweetheart neckline. The Pretty Little Liars actress accesorized with black costume jewelery, a Jimmy Choo clutch and black peep-toe slingbacks.
