Finally, Friday Night Lights got some love at an award show, recieving nominees in three categories but sadly, no wins. I was really hoping for a win! The critics have always loved the series and the Emmys have just recently started paying attention to the PHENOMENAL cast, writers, producers, etc. I know I have gone on and on about how well written, how raw the acting and how deserving FNL is of recognition and praise. You do not encounter TV shows like this often-- Im just saying, the recognition is nice!
Since Im being opinionated, I would also love to see Parenthood up for some awards. While I am at it, what about Jason Katims? The creative genius behind these two shows should also be formally recognized because what he is doing--the work he puts out there, I feel confident in saying it truly is unprecednted.
Here is the complete list of nominnes and winners from the 2011 Critics Choice Awards. I have also included the most recent Emmy winners. It really is interesting to see how the two shows compare and differ.
