Anderson Cooper hosted the 2011 Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Awards last night in New York. For those who don’t know, the CFDA Awards are the Oscar’s of the Fashion scene. Fashion designers and icons are presented with awards in a number of categories. Given the nature of the event, you know the fashion is going to be good, and it was!
Lady Gaga accepted the Fashion Icon Award while Alexander Wang took home the Accessory Designer of the Year Award. Gerard Butler presented Michael Bastian with the Menswear Designer of the Year Award and Marc Jacobs was presented with the ultimate honor, The Lifetime Achievement Award.
Here is a lengthy look at my favorite fashion from last night:

Liv Tyler in Proenza Schouler:
I love how colorful and vibrant this pattern silk dress is. Liv matched the Fall 2011 Proenza Schouler gown with a black belt, strappy shoes, and black clutch from the same designer. This is definitely my favorite look of the night.
Proenza Schouler took home the 2011 Womenswear Designer of the Year Award.
Doutzen Kroes in J. Mendel:
Red was big last night, you’ll see. The gown features elegant drape detailing and asymmetrical sleeves, countered with a sexy thigh high slit. The model completed her look with black platform sandals.
Kerry Washington in Calvin Klein:
The ivory dress is from the Fall 2011 Calvin Klein collection. I absolutely love the flared feather skirt. The ivory against her skin tone is perfection as well. She completed her look with chunky wooden sandals also by Calvin Klein.
Alessandra Ambrosio in Prabal Gurung:
The crimson cutout gown features a draped, plunging neckline as well as a draped back. The train and silver choker necklace adds elegance to the red hot look.
Naomi Watts in Calvin Klein:
This is a simple look that is executed extremely well: Naomi Watts is perfection in gold lame. The loose fitting gown is paired perfectly with nude Christian Louboutin pumps.
Karlie Kloss in Jason Wu:
The model showcased a red gown that featured skinny straps and was cinched at the waist with a black belt. A matching black clutch and red lips completed the look. The model stands next to designer Jason Wu in the image above.
Miranda Kerr in Michael Kors:
Miranda Kerr pulls off the sexiest look of the night, with a post-baby body, believe it or not! The black number is actually a combination of two pieces and is surprisingly not a gown. The combination includes a cutout bodysuit that features a plunging neckline and a sarong that showcases a thigh high slit. The gold detailing at her waist matches her cuffs, adding even more edge to the black number.
Lucy Liu in Monique Lhuillier:
There’s no denying, Lucy Liu looks gorgeous in this black strapless gown from Monique Lhuillier’s Fall 2011 collection. There is immaculate detailing at work, the gown showcases Chantilly lace, embroidered tulle, and ostrich feathers on the skirt.
My only complaint- I think she was a bit overdressed, compared to the other women in attendance.

Joy Bryant in Rachel Roy:
This sexy lace mini dress features skinny straps and feather detailing. The actress accessorized with a black clutch and black strappy sandals. A close second to Miranda Kerr’s sexy number.

Emmanuelle Chriqui in David Meister:
This dress screams summer. The lemon yellow mini dress features a sweetheart neckline and is paired with purple strappy sandals that feature jewel detailing.
